Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Jackson, MI Job Type: Full-time, 13-week travel contract

About The Role

Join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, where you will provide leadership and high-quality compassionate patient care. Utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, you will play a critical role in coordinating patient care, communicating with families and healthcare teams, and ensuring optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Delegate and supervise patient care, ensuring compliance with nursing standards
• Communicate pertinent patient information to interdisciplinary teams
• Develop and execute effective nursing care plans
• Administer medication drips and monitor patient responses
• Utilize critical thinking and clinical knowledge to respond to patient needs
• Engage in problem-solving to find solutions for variances in patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with state and hospital regulations
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current Michigan State Board of Nursing license required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• ACLS certification required (AHA)
• 2+ recent years of PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry nursing experience
• Experience administering medication drips required
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel
  
  

Shift Details

• 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 36 hours per week
• Weekends required
